If you for example have a page about the well-known blue pill, place a link to Viagra.com and perhaps one to the Viagra-page on Drugs.com. When search engines see that you’re linking to these high authority sites, they’ll definitely start to take your site serious and perhaps give you a better ranking.

I’ve been writing so much about fellow RX affiliate blogs that I decided to create a category dedicated to all the sites I personally find interesting for pharmacy affiliates. The DrugRevenue pharmacy affiliate program is one of the top RX affiliate programs on the web, thanks to their huge catalogue of products that they are selling. Their DrugRevenue blog is being updated with info on new products that they are selling, but it also is a source of some interesting bits of info for beginning and more experienced RX affiliates. Which trademarks should be avoided?

Here’s a small list (composed with own data and info from third parties) of the biggest potential troublemakers who will likely hunt you down if you’re using one of their trademarks in your site’s domain:

• Eli Lilly (Produces Cialis®)
• Johnsson & Johnsson (Produces Priligy®)
• Janssen-Cilag (Subsidiary of Johnsson & Johnsson)
• Allergan
• Roche

What trademarks will most likely not be hunted down?

Some companies aren’t so active in hunting down trademark violators and only take domain names away from time to time. Pfizer is one of them, they would probably go bankrupt if they would have to hire lawyers to hunt down every trademark violator in the RX affiliate industry. Other companies that probably will probably never be troublemakers are the producers of generic equivalents to brand medication, such as for example Ajanta Pharma (the producer of products such as Kamagra and Kamagra Oral Jelly) and Cipla (the producer of generic Cialis® and generic Viagra®). Since they are being hunted themselves, they won’t go after people who are using their productnames in their domains. In fact, they are probably happy that you are promoting their products since they depend a lot from online pharmacy sales.

I have domains with trademarked names in it: What should I do?

If you have domains with trademarks or are still willing to register domains with trademarks in it, don’t go delete your site away; there’s no reason to panic (yet). There’s a good chance that the holder of the trademark won’t contact you because you’re domain isn’t very visible in search engines, or simply because they don’t think it’s necessary to take you down. They have to take some of the down just because they need to do this in order to keep their trademark on their domains, but taking every site down that uses their trademark would cost them lots of time, money and is quite a hopeloss thing to do since people will keep registering these domains.

You could add a disclaimer on your site stating that you are not affiliated with the trademark holder, and recommend the official brand products on your site and not the generic version of it. Try to use some ® and “TM” symbols after the trademarked names just in case.

Last month I wrote about the RX-Partners official blog that’s filled with RX-Partners.biz news and interesting tips and news for RX affiliates. I should have also mentioned that the affiliate team at RX-Partners also runs a forum where affiliate marketers with an RX-Partners account can discuss all things pharmacy affiliate marketing, or talk about other things in life. The vast majority of posts is being made in the Russian subforum, but the English threads also contain a source of useful RX affiliate marketing information. Everyone who has ever heard of our blog has definitely heard of the awesome and must-follow forums at RXAffiliateForum.com. The site has been around a lot longer than we have, and they have some of the hardcore and most ancient RX affiliate marketers on their list of members! If you’re a beginning RX affiliate marketer or an experience one, RXAffiliateForum will always give you some new information and some new ideas to improve your performances in the pharmacy affiliate marketing industry.

Not only is the forum a great way to learn some tricks for your sites, all the biggest pharmacy affiliate programs such as MyRXCash, Stimul-Cash, MedsPartners and RX-Partners.biz have their own subforum where they post the latest news and specials. If you ever thought that the RX affiliate business was a dark world full of anonymous people (like I once did) then you definitely haven’t visited these forumboards yet. Their Buy and Sell board sometimes contains some cool stuff as well, so go check it out!

Both sites that lost Google traffic are about two specific products. I added new content to one of those two sites, the other one didn’t change a bit over the past few weeks so that can’t be it. The changes I did to that one site could have confused Google a bit, so it’s possible that this loss of traffic is just a temporary thing.

My August pharmacy affiliate earnings will be down a lot because of this important loss of Google search engine traffic for these two big sites of mine. Even though things aren’t looking good right now, I have been investing quite a lot of my precious time and money in my existing sites and similar/new sites. Right now, I’m having a hard time getting some traffic from Google to my newly launched sites as well.

Google PR update coming, that gives hope

I can only hope that Google’s next PR update, which will most likely be going on end this month or in the first week of September, will bring back the good days I had. I know that PageRank doesn’t matter that much (anymore), but it’s the only hope I have right now and maybe this new PR update might trigger something that will improve my SERP again. I’m always using clean, natural linkbuilding methods and don’t do any spamming. Right now it’s quite frustrating for me to see that spammers are almost always enjoying good times while honest affiliate marketeers like me are being punished from time to time. And the more time/money I seem to invest, the less good I’m doing.

Maybe I should consider changing my SEO strategy a bit? Or maybe I just need to give it some more time. Feel free to let me know what you think of my situation and what you expect from Google’s PR update. In the meanwhile, I’ll do what I feel I should do and hope for better times!

From first spot to zero and back to first and…

Another weird thing with one of my sites is that Google places it on the first spot of the first page for a couple of days, and then suddenly it’s gone again for a couple of days. It’s a site that has an important keywords in its domain and which I promote for this one keyword. Sometimes this site gets almost no visitors from Google at all, the following day it starts to get tons of traffic through Google. This trend for this site has been going on for a couple of months now, and more backlinks don’t seem to have any effect.

I’ve done a few tests with trying to gather a small group of people interested in certain pharmaceutical products on Facebook and Twitter, and I didn’t really manage to get my stuff sold. Still, I don’t think that RX affiliates should give up on all these social networking sites. If you have your own pharmacy or affiliate pharmacy, it might be a good idea to try to promote your online pharmacy on Facebook. Don’t go and spread much of your Viagra productlinks around on the page of your pharmacy, simply try to promote your pharmacy as a brand. A Facebook-account or Twitter-page with some links leading to your pharmacy could give you a higher ranking in search engines. As social networking is becoming the internet’s number 1 source of information, search engines are going to like RX-sites that get some social media links a lot more than other RX-sites that don’t get that type of links.

None of this has been proven of course, but I personally think that search engines will start to pay more and more attention to sites that are being discussed on popular social networking sites.
